Yeshua’s 70-Week Ministry

                                         Yeshua/Jesus 70 Week Ministry
(Using the Gospel of John’s Passovers)

To the average believer it is well established in their minds, that the ministry of the Messiah lasted three and a half years. Yet nowhere in the Gospels, or anywhere else in the Bible, does it state this as a fact. Now there is a reason for this fallacy and it has to do with the Universal Church attempting to make the life of a Pope fit this description. We will not go there in this short note.

The first time in scripture we find Yeshua and the Passover mentioned is John 2:13, 23.    This is His first ministry year. He had just turned water into wine, the beginning of His miracles. (John 2:11)                                                                                                           John 2:13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

Note that the King James translators never make “Passover” a proper noun.  Note also “Yeshua went up to Jerusalem.” This is important because coming from a Hebrew heritage, He and His family always kept YHVH’s Feasts. (Luke 2:41) Three times a year it was mandatory for all males to go up to Jerusalem to attend the feasts. (Passover/Pesach) Spring. (Pentecost/Shavuot) Summer and (Tabernacles/Sukkot) Fall.                                                                                                                                         Deut 16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread (Pesach), and in the feast of weeks (Shavot), and in the feast of tabernacles (Sukkot): and they shall not appear before the LORD (YHVH) empty:

The next time we find Yeshua and a feast mentioned is John 5:1. This would be the feast of Pentecost.                                                                                                                        John 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.        Note again, “Yeshua went up to Jerusalem.” The next feast in this first year would be Tabernacles.

But look at John 6:4. And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.                           What happened to the feast of Tabernacles? And where does it say, “Jesus went up to Jerusalem”? And why is Jesus talking about eating bread? (With leaven) Should not the men be on their way to Jerusalem? There are those of us who believe that the translators, added another year to the Messiah’s ministry, by adding this verse fictitiously.

Now see John 7:2 Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand. With out John 6:4, we have the next feast in the Fall, of the first year. It is in its proper place. Oh, Did Yeshua go up to Jerusalem? Yes He did……                                                                                       John 7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

Yeshua’ second year of Passover observing is His final year here on earth. To stay in context we stay in the Gospel of John.                                                                                 John 11:55 And the Jews’ passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves                                               John 12:1Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.                                                John 13:1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end   (Mark 14) (Luke 22)

Note this supper was before the feast. The last supper was Not the Traditional Passover supper.  I know what Mat 26:18, 19 and Mark 14:16 state, but they, the Leaders, should have known if the Passover supper was already over.                                                         John 18:28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.   No, it was the translators that did not know about the  supper before a Holy Convocation, is a “High Sabbath day”                                                   (Lev 23:4) These are the feasts of YHVH, Holy Convocations, which you shall proclaim in their seasons.                                                                                                                    (Lev 23:5) In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is YHVH”S Passover.          (John 19:31) The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.        Note; the fourteenth day of the month can occur anytime during the week! So this is a Special Sabbath, not the weekly Sabbath. Now you can get three days and three nights ending on the weekly Sabbath evening.

John 19:14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!                                                                                  Lev 23:12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the Lord                                                                   Note again, a 3,1/2 year old he lamb would not be a lamb, he would be a ram.                    (Gen 15:9)

We believe the ministry of Yeshua began when He came up out of the Jordan River. (John 1:36) It lasted 63 weeks until the day of Pentecost. He then sent mankind the Holy Spirit, so that we would not be left comfortless (John 14:18) Yeshua will return to complete the final 7 weeks. See and study (Dan 9:24 – 26)
